What is Physically Based Rendering?
Physically Based Rendering, as known as PBR, is a type of real-time rendering technique that creates more realistic images than the traditional ones by simulating how light interacts with the surfaces in the real world. It takes into account the physical properties of objects and light such as how rough or smooth the surface is, how light is reflected from different angles and etc.
What Can I Do With This Demo?
In this demo, you can see how different material properties affect the appearance of the rubber duck model. You can adjust the following properties:
- Base Color: The primary color of the duck.
- Roughness: How smooth or rough the surface appears. Lower values make the surface shiny and reflective.
- Metallic: How metallic or non-metallic the material is. Set it to higher values to make the duck look like metal, and lower values to make it appear more like plastic.
- Clear Coat: A thin translucent layer over the material, such as car paints or lacquered wood. Set it to higher values to make the duck glossy.
- Clear Coat IOR: The degree of bend of a light ray when it passes through the clear coat
